Hi there... its been a while searching through my country for a best hardisk and i end up buying the WD 2TB Black Caviar.. and currently full-formatting it (which takes more than 12 hour due to i use the adapter and usb 2.0 to connect it thus the process is slower *sigh*)... LoL...

so as for cloning my Old hardisk... do i need a software or just copy and paste every single thing? im gonna go safe mode to copy& paste everything (if that is what u suggested) .. and one member told me to run chkdsk once atleast after everything is done... haha... :P

You can do copy and paste. You can also use Imaging with free Macrium to clone the disk.

hi so i have copy and paste everything... i donwload WD diagnostic tool and run SMART test and short test (both passed).. and i run the chkdisk and tick both boxes as well and it finished flawlessly, does this mean that the disk is doing fine for the time being? or should i run the extended test (included in the WD diagnostic tool) as well? or its enuff already? :)

See the post I made in your hard disk thread: need suggestions on new hardisk. Now that you have the new drive and your questions are related to that, you can just post in that thread. I'm subscribed to it, as well, and can help you through there.

If you have any crashes (which I wish you the best of luck that you do not), return here.
