    BSOD/Restart after Windows Logo

Hi all! I really need help, everytime I try to install a Windows 7, it restarts or BSOD after the Windows 7 logo.

Here's what happened. I'm gonna tell you how it started.

I was just watching a video and suddenly my speaker started a crashing noises, so I removed the cable and tried reconnecting the cable, but it doesn't sound anymore. So I decided to restart my PC, then after select Windows 7 (I have 2 OS, Vista and Windows 7), it says:
"Windows Failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause", when I start windows, it restart or BSOD after the logo. I tried entering in Safe Mode but it still stops on a certain file, can't remember it now since I have deleted my OS.

So I also tried booting with my Windows Vista, still can't start it, I tried booting using Last Known Good Configuration but still same result,
here's where it stops when I tried to boot Safe Mode using Vista: crcdisk.sys

I am pretty sure that I didn't add any hardware on my PC.

So here's all the troubleshooting I tried to do:
    1. I tried to boot on the Windows 7 Installer to repair the OS, but it restarted after Win7 Logo
    2. I tried booting my Harddisk on a different PC, when selecting OS, it still shows Windows Failed to Start", I tried to install a fresh Windows 7, surprisingly, it passed the Windows 7 Logo and it even finished the whole installation, I can successfully open this new installation without any problem (be noted that this is on another PC)
    3. Then I tried to put back my harddisk on my new PC, sadly, when selecting the newly installed OS, it shows "Windows Failed to Start" and breaks my heart.
    4. Then I tried installing Windows XP, I can successfully partition the harddrive, but the setup restarts/hangs on when its on the process of Installing Devices (35 minutes remaining)
5.. Then I tried to delete all OS, there's this 1 time after deleting all the partitions that I reached the Select Language window, after that same result
    6. I tried resetting the MOBO but still same result

I tried to note all the BSOD messages but it gives different messages everytime.

I am pretty sure that there are no hardware changes, here are the specs:

    Gigabyte a55m-s2v
    Kingston Hyper-X Genesis 4GB DDR3
    AMD A6 3650 2.6 GHz, 4mb total cache
    250gb SATA Seagate

These are all bought last december only (xmas gift for myself) except the harddisk so it still have warranties, but I still want to try to fix this because I don't have enough time to bring to the shop where I bought it.

That's all, I apologize for my poor grammar. Any assistance would be gladly appreciated. Thank you very much!

    PS.
I know that you'll ask me to check the RAM, unfortunately, I haven't found any friend that has a DD3 MOBO. I tried Memory Diagnostics and it finished 100% and shows no error message (not sure if this is how it works)

This is a hardware issue; something is faulting. Normally, I would think it was the hard drive, but you said it worked in another machine, so this is fairly unlikely. I would still recommend a hard disk diagnostic using the hard drive's manufacturer tools. See HD Diagnostic for how to find the hard disk manufacturer and the diagnostic tools.

You are correct that it may be memory. Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

The other two possibilities are your PSU is failing or your motherboard shorted out. You can try Britton30's PSU Testing to check the PSU. This really only helps if the problem is obvious through the multimeter readings, so if it comes back clean, the only real way to test is to swap your current PSU with one that you know works (borrow from a friend if you can). If everything comes back clean out of all these tests (you may want to run Memtest86+ three or four times for seven passes each time before ruling out the memory), it is most likely the motherboard that failed.

Also, if you have any PCI cards, try removing them and seeing if Windows will start. One of them could also be the faulting piece of hardware. Graphics card is a possibility, as well.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for the reply! I'll try all your advise later and will inform you the results.

Just an additional information, when I tried the harddisk on another machine, I also used the power supply from my new machine, but this another machine has a lower specs, I think it only has 512 RAM and an Intel Celeron 2.6 ghz, since this PSU worked on another machine, is it enough reason to rule out the PSU for causing this problem? Or is it also possible that it only worked because this other machine has lower specs?

    Thank you.

What is the PSU rated at? Lower spec machines to require less power, so it would help to know what you have in your system. Also, do you have a graphics card, or do you run off the onboard display?

No, I don't have any graphics card, my processor(?) has an IGP. The sad truth is, for now, I am using a 600w Generic PSU ... I only plan to use it until the end of february since one advises I got is a generic PSU will work fine if you don't have any graphics card and I plan to buy a True-Rated when I have enough money... With that said, is there a high possibility that my Generic PSU ruined my machine?

I checked this link: Setup stops responding with 34 minutes remaining

can you give me a tip on how to analyze this setupact.log?

It is very unlikely that the PSU ruined the machine. It is more likely it is just not supplying enough power. The board needs 400 W, so 600 should be sufficient if the PSU is working properly. If it is not, it may be supplying less than what the motherboard needs. As I said, you would have to test it and/or swap it out to find out whether this is the case.

    From the link you provided:
You can also review the Setupapi.log file, the Setupact.log file, and the Setuperr.log file (in the %windir% folder) to try to determine which device Setup was trying to detect when it stopped responding. To locate the device that is the most likely cause of the issue, read the last 10 to 15 lines at the end of the files.

Did you determine the device interfering with installation?
