Alright, try ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P5K -> OS: DOS -> BIOS and BIOS Utilities

Flash the BIOS from DOS. It's a bit more of a pain, but your motherboard manual should give good instructions on how to do so.

by the way when you say Flash the BIOS from DOS, you mean to put the exe file in a usb flash and restart my pc and boot it from there? if yes which exe file? the afudos update or the other one?

i updated the bios. i saved the rom file in a usb flash, restarted my pc and installed it. in case of a freeze i will inform you.
by the way after the update was complete i have an issue with my screen resolution. it doesn't fit on the screen. it is centered and on the sides and up and down there is black. the different resolutions can't fix this, neither can the options of the tv. the black on the sides and up and down still exists. do you know how can i get the signal from the pc to fit on the screen?

Follow the steps laid out in your manual: Put the .exe file and the .ROM file on the USB stick and boot into DOS. You can also just put the .ROM file on the USB device and use EZ-FLASH through your motherboard by pressing ALT + F2 when the system first starts and is going through the Power-On Self Tests (POST) routine.
