Have you checked your motherboard site for a BIOS update? I noticed your BIOS version is pretty old; 2006.
that is the latest bios version on the site.
Yeah, I thought that may be the case. Many times, motherboards stop being supported for BIOS updates.
Did the performance fix it make a difference?
no it didnt help it still is stopping for no reason, there is no movement on the hdd screen mouse or keyboard could it be a driver somewhere that is affecting it loading properly. like a driver that is only loaded in normal mode and not in safe mode
It COULD be, but the fact that this is happening on multiple operating systems is concerning. Can you run Linux normally?
i havent tryed linux but i have tryed xp, vista and 7 and all the same it still happens
See how it runs Linux. Clear Windows off the drive and run Linux. Backup any important files first.
nope it still hangs on linux as well i tryed changing the ram and it still hangs. on the event viewer it say about prefetch could that be stopping it
just checked all the hardware in the computer and it is fine i ran both linux ubuntu 10 and windows 7 on the computer and they both stopped randomly but then ran the computer for about 3 hours in safe mode and there was no problems it didnt stop once so what service or driver could be stopping the machine from working the only things installed are os and mboard drivers no external ( i.e graphics card) drivers are installed but it also stops in normal mode if there are.
