Windows 7 Ultimate 64
BSOD on start up after fresh install.

Hello, my computer is about 2 years old. It first came with Windows vista 64. A few months ago I got a hold of a copy of windows 7 pro 32, so I wanted to check it out, even If I was going to take a hit on ram. Well now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64, but after doing a fresh install I kept getting BSOD after the windows logo. I was able to complete the setup after removing all my ram except for one stick. The same problem persists after setup. I can boot up in safe mode just fine with all of my ram.

System Specs:
Operating System: Debug Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: LX6810-01
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

Please update all drivers for your system from the system's support site: The following drivers are pre-Windows 7 and may cause problems with Windows running properly. Especially recommend updating your RAID driver and chipset drivers. For the chipset and all Intel drivers, use the Intel® Driver Update Utility. All other drivers may be found via the links below.

I recently had to replace the HDD in my Alienware M14X R1 (went from a Samsung 500GB 7200 to a WD Black 500GB 7200). This was due to frequent and increasing BSoD's. Did a fresh install of Win 7 Home Premium x64 using an ISO on a DVD and it went well. Installed drivers from the Resource disk...
