How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Second your Avast. Know cause of BSOD's

Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

UPDATE TO SP-1

Please run the update readiness tool and then update to SP-1


Ensure you install the correct 64 or 32 bit option for your system)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (64bit)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (32bit)


Now update to SP-1

The outdated drivers are from using update feature of Device mgr. Will correct.

I ran the system readiness update tool, then tried to install SP1. Install failed with Error Code 0X80070490. Went online and found that this is due to a corrupt file. Told I need to use my Windows 7 disk to repair. Then I will try again. Thanks for your help so far.

You might be able to get away with running a system file check to repair that file.
