BSOD computer stop on sleep, I think

Sorry could not remember the code of my BSOD happened yesterday. I have a new Asus N53SM running Win7 64. I have installed no extra hardware outside of a mouse and a external hard drive and it stopped yesterday, probably on going to sleep.
I have done your steps 1 to 5 but the step "perfmon /report" fails to write the html file, I tried it three times including from the dos prompt as admin. This is my second asus in a week. If I can't fix it I will replace with something else.

    Thank you in advance.

A driver (probably your video driver) caused an inconsistent power state on the PCI bus. With only one DMP we cant be sure but as a first step I would re-install the newest driver using this method.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver.

In order to do that we recommend using
    http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

OK have removed NVIDIA drivers completely, but on the NVIDIA site I don't find a driver for my graphics card, I don't need it either as I am using the INtel graphics.
Later however my son will start playing games and then I will need a driver.
I will keep this thread updated to see if I have any problems or not. Thanks for your help. NVIDIA GT 630M - 2GB

PS any ideas why I could not do perfmon/report

Have reinstalled a driver from the ASUS live update site. So far so good. Am still unable to do the perfmon/reportwhich concerns me.

Again thanks I will wait a few days before closing as it is so rare for it to happen.

There is still a problem with the OS that we can deal with when the crashes stop.

OK has not crashed since sunday. But how can there be a problem with a brand new machine with preinstalled windows, this means that windows is not released properly?

Its Asus that installed their image of windows (with their bloatware) on their hardware. Its not win 7.

OK agreed, I removed a few things on it already and installed MSE. So presuming that the BSOD is fixed, I hope so.... What should I do next to remove any software I don't actually want or need.

Lets wait and see if you have stopped crashing then worry about the bloatware.
