BSOD following system idle

Hi,

I'm new here so i'm hoping you can help.

I recieved my computer from a family member about 6 months, when he gave it me he told me it had a problem of BSOD, my knowledge of computers is limited and having read forums i have tried to update all my drivers, i have also unplugged different equiptment attached to the pc but still i get the BSOD after the system is idle and has been brought back to life, this happens anywhere between 1-15 mins of it being brought back to life.

I have taken a look at the dumps you have provided, and after debugging at least ~10, all 10 were caused by HDAudBus.sys (HD Audio Drivers) with the same 9F bugcheck (driver power state failure).

I'd recommend uninstalling your current audio drivers and installing the latest audio drivers for your system.

The hd audio drivers would ring a bell with me, as everytime i switch on the pc it ALWAYS wants to re-install them, so i removed them, however when i rebooted my pc it instantly wanted to reinstall them again being win 7. is there anyway i can switch off auto updates? as i said i know a little about computers, i don't think my knowledge is the right place lol.

Yes, of course!

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
2. In the left pane, click Change settings.
3. Under Important updates, choose the option that you want.
4. Under Recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box, and then click OK. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You can also choose if you want to allow anyone to install updates by selecting the Allow all users to install updates on this computer check box. This applies only to updates and software that are installed manually; automatic updates will be installed regardless of the user.

my next question would be once i uninstall the audio drivers for my system, how do i find the new correct drivers for my system?

You're going to want to use the Intel Driver Update Utility to find the latest drivers for your specific components.

Another important thing to mention, after checking the sys_list document to check up on a few things, I noticed you have Daemon Tools installed. Daemon Tools is legendary for causing BSODs in the Windows 7 environment, so please uninstall Daemon Tools from your system after updating your drivers and report back.

so now i'm having fun, the Intel Driver Update Utility recognises my devices but there are either unknown or unsupported...and that's all my devices on the computer, for example this is what i get from the audio devices column

so i'm still clueless as what drivers to download, as for daemon tools, i only installed that about a month or so ago, and my BSOD has been going on a hell of a lot longer didn't think it would be that but i have uninstalled in anyway. anymore help would be greatly appreciated

Did the manufacturer supply the driver 'branding' it post-Intel? You may need to go to the manufacturer of the computer's website (IE: Gateway, Dell, HP, etc), and download there.

i have no idea, as i said in my first post i was given it about 6 months ago from a family member, never thought i would have this much trouble with it. it is a packard bell pc so i'm gonna go and look on there site to see what i can find, but i'm still very clueless as to how i can fix this BSOD.

If you cannot find the drivers I'll have someone help as I do not know myself where to locate your specific drivers. If after updating your drivers you're still BSOD'ing, we move onto other tests, so do not worry just yet!
