Experiencing Various BSODs while Idle

Hello,

I have been experiencing various BSODs over the past month on my computer, which I only built this January. They mostly happen while my computer is idle, but occasionally they occur while I am doing general activities, like browsing folders or the Internet. Recently I've seen them while starting games (tonight it was GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City), but most of the time I can play games for hours without experiencing BSODs.

Here are my system specs:
- OS Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 OEM
- CPU Intel Core i7-2600k CPU
- COOLER Corsair Hydro H60
- PSU Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750 V2
- SSHD OCZ Vertex 3 SATA III 120GB (OS installed)
- HDD Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200 SATAIII
- MOBO Asus P8Z68-V Pro / Gen 3
- GPU Asus ENGTX570 DirectCU II GTX 570
- RAM Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 4GB)
- DVD-RW Asus DRW-24B1ST 24x

I have tried reinstalling my OS. I am not overclocking. I've run MemTest in overnight tests, first on one stick, then the other, than both sticks - no failures. I've tried to make sure all my drivers were up to date, and I've turned Driver Verifier on - had a few related BSODS but haven't been able to track down any conclusive info on what they indicate. I've also run FurMark to stress test my GPU, and that test passed. I have also downloaded Crystal Disk Info and HD Tune to test my SSHD and HD, and both look to be fine...

I am not sure what else to do... I think it is either the SSHD or drivers, but I`m not sure how to further track that down. I would really really appreciate any help that I might get! Please let me know if there is any further info that I can provide to you guys... and thanks very much in advance!

Three of the four most recent driver verified crashes were related to HIDCLASS.SYS. Hidclass (Human Interface Devices) are things like fingerprint readers, game joysticks, etc.

We could use some more information on the kind of devices that are attached to the computer.

Yeah, those last four BSODs (all DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION) were related to my attempts to play GTA IV: Episodes From Liberty City last night. The first three were all on attempts to run the game, and the fourth happened in the screen that Windows displayed because it hadn't shut down properly. The one where it gave me the option to restart in Safe Mode (default, or with networking, etc.), and I chose Safe Mode with Networking. Shortly after choosing that, I got the fourth "_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION" BSOD. I don't think I even got into Windows... so a little context info for you.

I don't have many devices plugged into my pc, but here's as much as I can list:
- Acer 24" AL2216W LCD monitor (DVI connection)
- Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard (USB)
- Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse (USB)
- M-Audio Keystation 88es (USB)

And that is it... I'm also using a Antec Eleven Hundred tower, with a few Antec case fans.

Oh yeah... I also wanted to mention that my SSHD firmware is up-to-date too, at v2.15.

Try removing that at least to test and upload any further DMP'S

So I swapped my SSHD with another SSHD of same make/model that my brother owns - we'd bought them at the same time - and I'm running with his right now. So we'll see if that makes a difference.

I reinstalled the drivers for my Keystation 88es - they're current as of 2010... Have removed it for the time being.

Tried running GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City as it's the only reliable way I know of to get BSODs right now. Still saw the same BSODs on two attempts - I have zipped and attached them.

As they are always DRIVER_VERIFIER related, I am wondering if it is just the game. I may just disable Driver Verifier and try again.

I'll let my computer idle for a while (couple of days) to see if I get any more BSODs while I'm not doing anything on it.

Well I have not had any BSODs for a while. Ever since swapping my SSHD with my brother's (we have the same OCZ Vertex 3 model), I have not had any BSODs. Ran my PC non-stop for a week without the M-Audio Keystation 88es, and then plugged that in and ran with it plugged in for another week. No BSODs.

More interestingly, my brother's PC has not had any BSODs either while using my old SSHD. So my only guess is that maybe I did not have the power cable plugged in all the way before...? I had already tried swapping the SATA cable, but that did not do the trick.

Anyway, summarizing, no BSODs anymore! Thanks again for the help. I'll go ahead and call this issue fixed.
