BSOD need help debugging, perhaps firefox issue

so i finally got around to backing up my data and doing fresh install of win7, everything seemed fine, i started to download the win updates 100+ of them :P and got a bluescreen this is driving me nuts.

i was lucky enough that it was set up to write the dump file, i think it did a full one and was hoping you could look it over.

i guess its something hardware related. i ran memory test from repair disc and found no issues, going to try and error check my hard drives. please share any ideas you may have.

• Monitor temperatures during the following tests.
  
  Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.
  • Real Temp is a good CPU temperature monitor.
  • Speccy - System Information - Free Download will monitor all hardware temperatures.
  • HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools can be inaccurate for CPU temperatures, but is a good program for GPU temperature monitoring.
  
  
  • Use FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net to test the graphics card GPU. Then use the |MG| Video Memory Stress Test 1.7.116 Download to test your graphics card memory. Let the memory test run for at least seven passes; the more the better.
    
    
  • Run Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 to determine any hardware problems. Run all three tests for a few hours each. If you get errors, stop the test and post back here.
  
  
• Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).
  
  If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
  
  1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
  2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
  3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
  4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working.
  
  Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

i dont overclock.
i use couid hardware monitor to read my temp sensors, but could never get my vid card to show temps on any software program, so after much googling, i found out my video card uses some sort of proprietary temp sensor and needed asus smartdoctor to read them. i did the tests and didnt find any issues, the temp never went over 65c which seems pretty good.


i also ran the memtest tool, i was pretty sure i wouldnt get many if any errors, its pretty good ram, anyway did 6 passes and found nothing. got back into windows to run the prime stress test, ran it for a few hours found nothing, my cpu temps never went over 56 which is decent max for this processor is 62c as per amd.

I have been doing things that would have cause my pc to crash before, my uptime currently stands at just over 7 hours, no crashes, i think what might have done it was the hdd checking, it found two errors in two diff hdds that seemed insignificant, but i dont remember the system crashing since then.


ive included a zip of my cpuid logs, cpu max temp was 56 and dropped as soon as the i stopped the test. like 25 deg diff. also shows other info like voltages and such, not sure how to read into those.

im gonna try and download/install the windows updates and see what happens, im also going to run the video card tests again later, but things seem to be looking up.

in any case i want to thank you for helping me so much, this has been frustrating.

You're welcome. I would suggest running the hard disk checks again if you have any more crashes. Make sure the drives are not constantly accumulating errors because this could indicate failure.

Temperatures appear to be in acceptable limits, although I would feel more comfortable if your processor was getting to around 52 instead of 56 C.

i was able to download and install all of the win updates and subsequent updates as well, so far no issues, i extracted and moved files between hard drives while watching some video and no issues, i think that pcie slot was messing up, anyway to trouble shoot that kind of thing?

speccy says this port is x4 and i think the previous one was x16, not sure how this happened or why just glad to see that the system seems stable, going to have to re install win7 again on 64 to be able to use all my ram which sucks but im happy the issue seems fixed.

It could be the slot. I have also seen x4 work over x16 if the power supply unit (PSU) is not able to handle the graphics card installed. The best way to test would be to find another PSU that has a high enough rating for your system and see if the x16 then works. You could try borrowing a PSU from a friend. :)

I actually did consider the psu being an issue, its 600w i found a psu calculator tool online and entered all my components and it said it was like 500w so i dunno if thats the issue, i dont know anyone with a higher wattage psu and i dont have cash to upgrade right now. i dont think using 4x will affect me much, im not a big gamer.

edit: wouldnt you know it, 5 minutes after writing the above, the system crashes, bsod. it was during the downloading of the windows updates again. rebooted and while i was looking for the log the system freezes, wish i had the cash to just build a new pc lol... hmm as i write this i see the hdd activity light on my case being solid, not doing anything on the pc, only writing this. i give up for now lol.

Check if your hard disk is faulty:

• Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log
