    BSOD of Skyrim

    Hi all,

I have been having frequent BSOD of deaths while playing Skyrim. I have ran Memtest and have scored 0 errors in 10 passes and also recently formated and reinstalled my windows 7 64bit system to try to get rid of the problem. However, the problem still persists and I do not know what to do next. Here are my system specs

    Windows 7 64bit OEM
    Athlon II x2 260
    ATI HD 5670
    MSI 870-G46 motherboard
    Kingston HyperX blu 4GB Memory
    Corsair 450 watt PSU
    WD 500GB hard drive

I do not know if the BSOD that I am getting are a hardware or software/driver problem. I only get these BSOD while playing Skyrim. I have attached my required info files to solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Hey my computer just crashed two times after I updated my 12.1 driver to 12.2 I will attach the 2 minidump files. I know I should be patient and all but I am growing impatient. My BSOD info file has not been looked at and my post has since been ignored. Please help ASAP my system is getting more unstable by the second. This is Urgent.

You have not been ignored. You are in my list of to do crashes. We volunteer our time on here to help others. By thinking that you are more important than other people on here and should have yours looked at NOW, you are going to rub the helpers the wrong way and fall further down in their priorities.

Remove: AMD Overdrive, Gigabyte Easytune6, or AMD Vision Engine Control Center from your computer. It uses the above driver which is known to cause crashes on some systems.

I suspect memory problems despite you passing Memtest. And when you say Memtest, do you mean Memtest86+?

What BIOS version are you running? What is the date of the current version? Start Menu -> type into Search programs and files: msinfo32 -> hit enter.

Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot.

Also, go into your BIOS and post all Voltages (CPU, RAM, NB, IMC, etc.) and all RAM settings (timings, frequency, etc.)

Hey writhziden thanks for your quick reply. My apologies I did not know that this forum was being constantly monitored by technicians.

I have done what you asked about the driver and uninstalled all AMD products other than the display driver itself off my computer like the video/media codecs, the vision control center, and etc. Now it seems like the BSOD of death is stopping as I have not recieved one after I uninstalled all the other crap that came with the driver.

Once again thanks for your help! I will mark this thread as solved and if I get another BSOD, i will post the minidump here.

Hey, unfortunately I have recently started getting new BSOD errors. I will attach these minidumps to this post. I started getting these errors after windows update reinstalled my sound drivers for me as my sound stopped work/ was echoing in skyrim.

Yes Memtest 86 was the test I ran with 0 errors in 10 passes.

    BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. V10.8, 03/03/2011

I will upload the CPU-Z screenshots and post the BIOS settings in the next post.

    Thanks

Manually set the first four timings to 8-8-8-22 for the 610 MHz frequency it is running at.

I also am unable to determine whether that RAM kit is designed to work with AMD or Intel processors. The Kingston that has been tested for your board with 2 GB modules is:

    Kingston RBU1333D3U9DR8 2GB
    Kingston D1288JEMFPGD9U 2GB

Hi writhziden, what do you mean by manually setting the first four timings to 8-8-8-22? You mean change th BIOS setings DRAM TCL,TRCD,TRP,and TRAS? How would I do that?

Also, I think the ram is compatible as I have used it ever since last June and have run a variety of games/programs on it before without a problem.

    Thanks for your help.
