BSOD Randomly, not sure of reason :/

Do you BSOD immediately after a Clean Install or after you add stuff?

mmm i install updates for whats installed on pc and windows updates and i usally get a bsod pretty quickly, i honestly dont recall exactly when or after whats installed though. my first thought was the MB cuz i seen on newegg ppl get BSOD with it so thought maybe MB was bad or the CPU.

Just curious. Have you run a checkdsk lately?


A- CHKDSK /R /F:

Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Do this for each hard drive on your system.

When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.

Then reboot and let the test run.

It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

B- Elevated Command Prompt:

Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

C-CHKDSK LogFile:

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.

Double click on the Source column header.

Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.

Disk Check

yup did all that too earlier and no problems were found.

If / when you do the Clean Install delay Updating for a few days. {to see if BSOD's occur.}
Suggest you do a few updates at a time rather than all at once.

K ill try that later tonight, and if a BSOD does occur, that mean a faulty MB maybe?

It MAY mean hardware.

Are you overclocking?

Im not overclocking but the intel i7 2600k i think has auto OC on to where it ramps it up when it needs but i have never manually OC anything on this pc, all is as is
