    That didn't work .
Also, aside from PCI simple communications not having a driver it also shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark saying that some hardware changes may not have been detected.

Sounds like you should try running Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows to see if it fixes any hardware/driver conflicts.

Just realized you already did that... Sorry, in a rush to get out the door, so I cannot take too much time to look things over.

If you follow the https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html, I can help you track down the PCI Simple Communications driver that is missing.

I also wonder if using the factory recovery partition would not be a bad way to go at this time (after backing up any important data, of course). Does your Dell have a method to revert to the factory image? There should be software in Windows to do it as well as a key to hit when the system first turns on. Dell should be able to talk you through it if you want, or if you wait when I have more time, I will look into it. Let me know which is preferable.

I was actually more after the system info file and msinfo32 file. The msinfo32 file would be preferable. To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

    Code:
PCI Simple Communications Controller	PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B64&SUBSYS_04561028&REV_06\3&11583659&0&B0	The drivers for this device are not installed.
I found that this is an Intel device. Dell Inspiron N4010 XP Downgrade Instructions « Mike Morawski – Technical Bloggings describes it as Intel(R) Management Engine Interface

    Appears to be:

It appears you may have a number of extra connections. Do you have two wireless devices?

Did the missing PCI Simple Communications Controller get resolved?
