i was playing star war the old republic online for about 3 mins just setting my graphic settings, then i logged out and ended the game back to desktop. then about 30 later i get a windows error message saying the RPC Endpoint Mapper stopped working. i couldn`t do anything with my pc at this point so i have to push my reset button to reboot.

in eventviewer it say event id 1000

i have no idea what this means or why it happened, its a fresh install of windows 7 with all the updates and SP1.

i just seen this in event viewer as well it happened at the same time event id 0

The description for Event ID 0 from source SDWinSec.exe cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

    The RPC server is unavailable

i think this is spybot search and destory i installed it 3 days ago, do you think it could be the problem ?

these are the only other 2 event id that come after the rpc mapper stopping

The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Reboot the machine.

then its only the SDWinSec.exe one

    any help plz

Spybot itself doesn't really have this issue, but its Tea Timer does cause this predicament for people if it ends up getting corrupted and bugged somehow. You probably will need to uninstall Spybot completely and then reinstall it. When installing it again, I personally would not advise you to opt to install Tea Timer. Windows already has something similar built in (UAC, User Account Control) and Tea Timer is prone to have bugs.

tea timer is not active nor is the sdhelper. i only use spybot for on demand scans once every 2 weeks. the sbsd security centre service is active tho. should i just uninstall it ?

or is it not even to do with spybot ?

It's been a while since I've used Spybot, so the whole "Security Center" thing is new to me. I personally don't believe you need to reduce the functionality of Spybot to get it to stop bugging. Rather, a simple complete uninstall of all its components and a clean reinstall should suffice. I still wouldn't go with Tea Timer though (make sure not to opt to install).

It does appear to be related to Spybot. Googling this came up with similar instances with people dealing with it, and yours did mention SDWinSec.exe, which is part of Spybot. If this diagnosis doesn't provide an answer to the problem, you can provide us a JCGriff Report, which contains a good bit of data on your PC that isn't just BSOD-related.

Um, not quite. Follow the instructions in the article and it should end up with you having a folder with a bunch of various files in it which you can zip up and send on over.
