    BSOD ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40

    Have received this BSOD several times while the machine has been in Sleep Mode. Normal operation is to turn the monitor off and put the computer into that mode during the night. The BSOD is the normal DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE ntoskrnl.exe caused by address ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40.

    Desktop Computer less than a year old. OEM version of Win7 Pro 64-bit pre-installed at time of purchase. Just updated computer info for this machine.,

    Uploaded Health Report.html and a Windows_NT6_BSOD_v3.03_jcgriff2_.exe.zip. Did not see the Health Report upload so I redid it as a zip file.

    If I missed anything, please let me know. Really do appreciate your help to resolve this. Have not had a BSOD at any other time than at Sleep Mode to the best of my knowledge.

    The 031712-109263-01 is the zip of my minidump file on the day of the event.

    You uploaded the application instead of the data.

    Try this method.

    We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

    If you are overclocking STOP

    You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

    To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    *If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.

    Easy your Symantec.

    Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

    Eliminated Norton and installed MSES. Still was unable to actually open the DMP file. Did you get the correct file this time?
