No Wake From Sleep – BlockedI have an issue with the sleep function. T

I have an issue with the sleep function. The computer does not awake from sleep. When I try to do it, it behaves as if it was waking, but it never ends and there is only a black screen; the mouse and keyboard are inoperative. The only thing possible to do is a hard reboot. When it boots, it shows a notice with a minute report (in the zip file) usually saying there was a blue screen, but I NEVER see any blue screen at all.

I know the power configuration is OK because I have always used the same scheme. A powercfg –energy report shows several errors and warnings. They refer to USB and PCI (vendor 1002=ATI motherboard), but I don’t know how to repair them.

I downloaded the drivers downloader from Rrecipester.org and downloaded and installed the drivers. They are all Broadcom Corporation signed, the brand of my USB Bluetoth attachment. I rebooted after installing, as recommended. Run powercfg –energy again and got the same report issues (in the zip file). I don’t think the processor utilization warnings to be very important because they are low and sporadic picks. It has been like this for some time now, so I don’t have a restore point. Can someone help and tell me what I can do so solve this issue, please?

Files uploaded in the attached zip:
    . Windows warning after reboot
. Windows dump and xml files (2 = 1 each)
    . Powercfg -energy report

I wanted to correct the thread title, but was unable to do it. Maybe someone else can do it.

Quite confident it's a driver issue, it will be very difficult to troubleshoot from the one included dump file though as it's incomplete and inconclusive.

    Code:

Thank you for replying Maguscreed. I am also convinced the issue is from a driver, and from what we can read on the powercfg report it is almost sure to be from the bluetoth. If it is, how can I solve the issue? Is there a way to completely uninstall and clean its drivers and registry entries and reinstal? Al least I could try that. Or any other thing. Any idea would be grate to try. I have had this bluetooth for two years now without having or causing problems. Thank you.

It's likely just using a vista driver, if the memory dump had been complete I would have the name of the actual driver file and could provide you with more specific information.

With that in mind, doing the following, and allowing it a minute or two before restart next time the problem occurs will hopefully give us a complete memory dump to work with.
    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header
Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

I am not quite sure that I fully understood your instructions. Here is what I did.

I set the minidump at sysdm.cpl (it was for Kernel memory dump). I rebooted, then pressed the sleep button and the PC went to sleep. a little while after when it was fast asleep I tried to wake it. The same issue happened. I had to reboot it and copied the minidump file from \Windows\Minidump.

However, I wanted to check the setting at sysdm.cpl and noticed it had changed itself to Kernel memory dump again. Is this OK or didn't I do exactly as you meant?

    Thanks again.

I had to change the extension to TXT because the uploader did not accepted it as a DMP. This time I couldn't fund the XML file. Disappeared

that appears to be the same dump file. Or it is also corrupt.
I have no idea why it would keep setting itself to kernel dump. I can actually read the large memory dumps which appears to be what it's making, however they are too big to attach here on this site.

No, I am sure it is not the same because I did delete the other one before and had the directory clean before following your instructions. I can upload the large one (>485MB) somewhere, but it will take some time because of its size. Maybe 1/2 hour, not sure. I'll start now just in case you want it.
Yes, ut is strange that the dump file setting changed. I am sure I saved with the OK (twice) before rebooting and then put the PC to sleep. Then, I tried the sleep function and checked after the hard reboot.
