I found this error logged in event viewer and would like to know its consequences, seriousness and solution

May i please request help by honorable members if this forum

Does not appear to be serious. DCOM errors typically mean antivirus software, firewall software, or router settings are not configured/working properly. Are you experiencing any issues with the system?

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

1. Click Start Menu
2. Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
3. Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
4. Expand Custom Views
5. Click Administrative Events
6. Right click Administrative Events
7. Save all Events in Custom View As...
8. Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
9. When asked, save the display information in English.
10. Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
11. Create a new folder by right clicking in a blank area within the folder Errors.evtx is saved in. You could also click New Folder at the top of the directory under the directory path box.
12. Name the new folder Errors.
13. Place Errors.evtx and the LocaleMetaData folder into the new Errors folder.
14. Right click the Errors folder -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
15. Upload the .zip file here.

Nice to know it may not be serious
Let me also tell you why i looked in the event log which i do not usually do is because my computer shut off ever so suddenly and without warning though i was on AC power and battery power - that's when i said i would look in the event viewer to discover if something was logged and that's when the DCom error was seen by me

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2


Let us know if you have any questions. We will proceed with further troubleshooting steps if you continue to have random shut downs. Your unexpected shut downs seem to be related to the Utility support driver problem, but I can't be sure this is the problem or just a coincidence.

Why should we be waiting until next random shutdown? meaning why can't be troubleshoot right away?
The utility support driver i believe is from Toshiba for one of its utilities

We are troubleshooting right away. There may be further troubleshooting steps beyond those posted in my previous post depending on whether the problem re-occurs. If we do many steps at once and the problem is solved, we will not know which of those steps provided the solution.

Remove the Toshiba Utility support driver software. It is causing errors on your system, and those errors coincide with the unexpected shutdown times.

Can you post your Msconfig screenshots of the Services and Startup tabs?
Start Menu -> Type msconfig into the Search programs and files search box and press enter.

You will need to take a screenshot, scroll down through the list, take another screenshot, etc. until you have captured all services and startup programs. Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums
