Well that doesn't fix it.. :P I did however find a sequence of events that I can do that usually makes it happen, so hopefully a dev can fix it for us.
All I do once I have established a connection to my remote PC is
Close the Teamviewer connection window on the host PC
Close the TeamViewer program window the host PC straight after.
Explorer crashes once and awhile, it's pretty of random but that is the bare minimum I've done to get it to crash.
When it seems to consistently not crash after doing over and over I either I minimize the TeamViewer panel first or go into the options first before initiating the connection or load a window up on the remote machine through the remote connection.
In fact when I first started troubleshooting this problem I was consistently minimizing the TeamViewer Panel before closing TeamViewer down, this was crashing Explorer on the remote machine almost every time I did it (As soon as I closed TeamViewer down on my host PC) Then all of a sudden it stopped doing it.
Not one of these combinations works every time but I can get it to crash about 50% of the time doing one of these sequences.
Hope you guys can nail it down now, here's a log file it should contain a whole bunch of goodies for ya considering I've crashed Explorer about 15 times tonight.
