I ran the memtest until it fully finished. 1 hour and 10 minutes roughly if i recall. This is why i didn't think it was possible for the problem to be related to memory. Now i got the Mushkin Ram in with no problems. I'm now at 6+ hours without any sort of crashes.

Yeah i think i'll be returning that Corsair Dominator Ram, hopefully i can still return it, otherwise i don't know what the hell i'll do with it. The Ram is fine, just doesn't work with my motherboard lol....

Great choice on Mushkin Ram. Never failed me :) Still got 2x1GB sticks home there doing nothing. Heh.

Sorry but skimming through this thread again, I realised no one mentioned a BIOS update. Have you tried one.

You should of ran the memtest for more than an hour, just to be sure. Like when you're going to sleep, let it run then for a good couple hours. I know with stress tests people say 8hrs + for stability... Some say 6...

But I've seen hardware fail even after 8hours of running. It hurts.. It's lengthy.. But you gotta do it..

Yeah i probably should have ran it for longer

Mushkin is great ram, i can't complain - i've had it in previous systems and it's never let me down. Great quality and price.

Yes i have updated my bios, first thing i did when i dropped in the new mobo last week. I'm pretty anal about keeping drivers up to date. I knew it couldn't have been a software issue - too bad i had to replace the ram but i haven't had a single crash now. And here i was blaming beautiful windows 7. Come to think of it, outside of the crashes caused by my ram i have not had a single win7 crash. Loving this O/S. Funny thing is that i made the upgrade from XP Prof 32 bit to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, well, needless to say it was a hell of a jump!

Thanks again for the help and support, i'll definitely plop back in here if i need any other advice!
