The only other option I can think of before doing a clean install is
    • Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

    • Then (after running three sfc /scannow commands with a restart after each), you may want to try the update reset again using the Fix It tool application instead of the manual fix. How do I reset Windows Update components?

Hi, well that's not a good new as per my firts post and as I have been checking that after every try or change.

sfc is still not working at all (I have try many times the online and offline methods) and I keep receiving the same error "windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation".

It looks like my only option will be to do a clean install.

As the rest of the PC is working fine I will delay that as much as possible (at least till I finish some current works) and then I will go for it.

I really appreciated all your help and advices and I was already prepared to heard that there is no solution. It is really sick my system and I understand that it is difficult to find out what is going on.

Again, thx a lot, you guys are the best around for windows technical support.

I will post here when the clean install have been made.

    Cheers,

    jc
