Hi, I need help since I have been getting a lot of Blue screens of death lately, with the Locale ID: 2058.

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits.
When I bought this machine I think it had Windows Vista.
It's at least 4 years old.

I was having BSoD's with Vista as well, then I formatted my pc last week and I keep getting BSoD's.

Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1

When I come back to Windows, I get this message:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 2058

    Additional information about the problem:

The crashes are random, somedays I don't get any BSoD at all, and some days I can get 2-3 BSoD's. Let me know if I have to add any info please.

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.

Problem is most likely caused by a Human Interface Device, USB device, or the USB ports themselves. Often, this crash occurs due to Bluetooth. If you open device manager and look under Human Interface Devices, what do you see? To open device manager:
    1. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
    2. Click Start Menu
    3. Right Click My Computer/Computer
    4. Click Manage
    5. Click Device Manager from the list on the left

    Alternatively:
    1. Login as an adminstrative user.
    2. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
    3. Click Start Menu
    4. Click Control Panel
    5. Click Hardware and Sound
    6. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)

Please post a screenshot of what is under Human Interface Devices

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7[2]=Performance%20Maintenance.

Thanks for the reply! Where can I get the latest driver? All I did was right click them and select "Update driver" from device manager but all were up to date. I don't know where to download the updates =s.

I added the screenshot, thank you.

I do not see anything in your HID to indicate the crashes. Let's try doing a reset of your USB devices through Windows and through the hardware/software interfaces outside Windows.
    • Start with USB Driver - General Fix for Problems to resolve the USB issues. Also, USB ports can sometimes enter a safe power state to protect the system from power surges due to USB devices. To reset the USB ports to a nominal power state:
      1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
      2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
      3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards,
headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth
wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
      4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
      5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
      6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

See how the system responds after doing the resets.

Also, do you have the latest version of f-secure installed? I note one of its drivers is out of date...

Ok, I had a problem with the tutorial of USB general fix problems, everything goes good until the last part where I have to type "Administrators" it says name not found =s.

The other steps about turning off PC and unplugging and all that. I did all steps, I'll let you know how it works.

About F-Secure, when I click "Check for updates" it says the product is up to date. But, I did updated Malware bytes Anti-Malware.

Do I have to do anything else or now I should just wait to see how PC works? Thanks for the help.

Are you sure you typed Administrators correctly? It should be a common name in Windows...

As for F-Secure, how long has it been installed on your system? You may need to remove the current version completely by following the appropriate steps for your version and Windows installation: F-Secure - Support article

Then install the latest version from the F-Secure website.

Yeah, I typed Administrators correctly, I even copied it from forum.

And for F-Secure, I had it installed since 5 months ago approx, but last week (almost two weeks) I formatted my pc and I downloaded it again...I downloaded it from link in the the e-mail they sent me 5 months ago though.

Should I download it from their homepage instead?

Strange regarding the administrators... Good work with F-Secure. Hopefully that will make sure there are no conflicts with the security software.

That looks good for now. See how the system responds for a while and report back in a few days. Best of luck! :)
