BSOD after installing Intel Graphics 3150 drivers, error 0x0000007f
Hello there,
I am new to the forums, so please excuse me for any rules I might break. I've read them all and as far as I know abide by them, but you never know.
The following problem is bothering me a lot:
Ever since my netbook crashed and I decided to reinstall Windows a week ago I am unable to install my video drivers: Intell Graphics Media Accelerator 3150. Whenever I do this (by using windows update or by downloading the drivers from ASUS) and I restart my netbook I get a blue screen with error 0x0000007f. When I look in the Event Viewer (after installing the driver via windows update I get the following errors:
EventID/Source
1001/BugCheck
41/Kernel-Power
6000/Winlogon
10005/DistributedCOM (four times)
7026/Service Control Manager
After installing the driver using the drivers from the ASUS website:
6008/EventLog
41/Kernel-Power
1101/EventLog
7001/Service Control Manager (eighteen times)
7026/Service Control Manager
1001/BugCheck
6000/WinLogon
10005/DistributedCOM (six times)
I fix this problem by going in to safe mode and uninstalling the same drivers again. After that I can restart Windows and everything is back to normal again.
System Specs:
Netbook ASUS 1005PE
Windows 7 Starter 32 bit
Reinstalled version of Windows 7 (not OEM anymore)
Processor: Intel Atom CPU N450 @1.66 Ghz (2CPUs)
Directx version: Directx 11
Memory: Kingston 800 Mhz 2 GB
Screen Resolution: 800 x 600 (should get bigger after installing video drivers)
System hardware approximately 3 years old
I am thinking about download the graphics drivers from the Intel site and try to install them. But, the fact that Intel is advising against that worries me.
Thanks for any help given!
Ronald
