I bought a Linksys wireless PCI card for my neighbor about a year ago. He hasn't complained about it to me, so I presume it's still good.

The wireless USB device would probably be more stable under XP or even Vista than it would be on Win7.
AFAIK, there's no hotfix available for this problem - as it isn't recognized as a problem by the manufacturer's.

I'd have to suggest another forum. You can get XP help at Windows XP (it's a new forum opened up by a friend of mine).

    its so frustrating -_-

is there a good tool i can use to find the right drivers I need?

Sorry, but we don't do XP support here. Please post over at the XP forums that I've suggested.
