Hmmm the overclocking is the prime suspect. I can force bluescreens all day long if I overclock the wrong thing.

Tell your comp guy to use the stock values and see if it crashes. Bluescreens are usually caused by hardware in my experience,

Get it back to 1066 for the time being. I have the same CPU and Mobo as you. There is a ton of overclock options on the Rampage.

Some file cleaners like CCleaner clear out the minidump file.

i'm a little desperate, so rather than wait for our comp guy, i believe i am going to try running the overclock utility myself... is it hard?

Don't know your level of expertise but if you can go into the BIOS and set everything to factory defaults that would be a good start.

Also are you running any of the ASUS overclocking utilities in Windows? If so I would disable them also using MSconfig.

It should not be that hard.. Once you press Del, or F12 or whatever the setup key is, once you get into the BIOS, finding the restore defaults or load defaults option is a breeze. Save your configuration and exit.

1600mhz from 1066... most likely not enough juice on the RAM, or your timings are probably too tight if he adjusted them as well...

But.. Lets get you back @ default.
