BSOD at startup (few seconds after logon appears) 0x000000f4

    Hey everyone,

I'm getting BSOD every time I start up. My computer starts to lag, everything becomes choppy, and then it shows the BSOD (dump file below).

I was randomly surfing the net when the crash happened. A video didn't load, then the whole program stopped working (couldn't click tabs, etc), then before I knew it, BSOD!

The only recent thing I've installed is Google Drive. But that was yesterday (I think), I've restarted the computer multiple times since and used it extensively, so I don't see how that could play much of a role. Regardless, I can't remove it since I can't even get in safe mode...(the same thing happens. Can't get passed logon screen.)

I'm in Ubuntu now working off a live CD.

    Thanks!!!

    Peter

Your Windows installation appears to be corrupted. Have you tried a system restore?

    Thanks for the reply,

I ended up completely reinstalling the OS before I got your reply.

Hopefully your info will be useful to another straggler.

PS: I tried system restore from the installation disk but it failed, (I think it said it couldn't access the restore data)

A clean install is always an option in these situations as long as you have no important data to lose or your data is backed up. :) Nicely done!
