BSOD occours at random several times daily.

I've been running the updated version of the driver, just changed it to 2009 version earlier today as I read somewhere that the newer version is sometimes a problem. I also cleaned out old drivers using driver cleaner pro. I'm currently using 190.38_quadro_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql

It was no different with the driver that windows installed, I disabled auto win driver update & installed the latest nvida driver, no difference, so tried older version today & no difference.

Is this system being run as a server? I see where.exe which is a program for finding any file on a server...

You have some rather important out of date drivers (especially if this is being used as a server):

Given the age of your system, run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows and report back the results.

Good to hear about Windows 7 compatibility. You will have to update the three drivers I linked to through those links since HP does not provide the Windows 7 versions. The links in my previous post provide the manufacturer websites for each driver.

I've downloaded the Soundmax software for the smwdm.sys but I get an error saying my system is not supported.

Downloaded the Intel software for E1G6032E.sys but I get error message saying no Intel connection found when I try to install.

The last one I can't find any drivers.

Alright, let Windows find the appropriate drivers if it can. Uninstall each driver, and make sure to delete the driver software for this device when given the option through the uninstall procedure.

1. Click Start Menu
2. Right Click My Computer/Computer
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
5. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices (Network Adapters; Sound, video, and game controllers; IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers???)
6. Right click the device
7. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
8. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
9. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
10. Let Windows install the drivers next time it restarts.

Alternatively:

1. Login as an adminstrative user.
2. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
3. Click Start Menu
4. Click Control Panel
5. Click Hardware and Sound
6. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
7. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices (Network Adapters; Sound, video, and game controllers; IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers???)
8. Right click the device
9. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
10. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK

Before I do all that, an update. I managed to find all the drivers, it took a long time to find the sound one, I had already deleted the drivers & so had no sound device for 1 1/2 hours during which I had no BSOD. I installed the sound driver but got error message then was promoted to try again with recommended settings, I re-booted & got error message that no ADI Codec Driver was installed. Sound was working fine but I had 2 BSOD within 5 mins ! Could be co-incidence or could have narrowed prob to sound driver.
