BSOD during shut down attempts, don't understand error?

I've gathered the requested files to share regarding my blue screen, otherwise I don't know much else except that when I try to shut down my computer it takes way too long and then crashes. Having similar issues when it sleeps as well.

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, OEM, 1.5 years old (never re-installed)

I operate a small business on this computer (graphic design work) so this is making me super anxious! I really appreciate any help offered, thank you!

Your athrx, sys driver (Related to athrx.sys Extensible Wireless LAN device driver from Atheros Communications, Inc.) is causing various other processes to fail. Re-install the newest driver available.

These drivers need updating (especially the ones from 2005 to 2008)Would have been easier to clean instal than update from the previous OS.
    Code:
    iirsp.sys 12/13/2005 5:47:54 PM fffff880`014fc000 fffff880`0150d000 0x00011000 0x439f418a

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference

Thank you so so so much... after some searching, I was able to re-install the new driver as well as update some of the others. My issues have been resolved, and after the other driver updates and some other maintenance I feel like I have a brand new computer! I'm obviously not super-techy, but will pay it forward in some other realm!

The critical errors began after I installed some anti-virus software - so I'm wondering if you/anyone has a recommendation on an anti-virus software that causes minimal issues on Windows 7? (I've used Norton and Ad-Ware in the past.) Or, on the contrary, if there is any anti-virus programs I should stay away from??

    Thanks for any additional insight.

Strictly from a bsod perspective MSE causes the fewest crashes. I would add Malwarebytes to what ever you end up with.

Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
    Update it immediately.
    Do a full system scan
Let us know the results at the end.

I did have the Microsoft Security Essentials active in the interim, after I uninstalled the previous software that was giving me issues.

I just downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes and did a full system scan, looks Like I'm in the clear?? Pasting report below. Can I use BOTH MSE and Malwarebytes simultaneously, or does this cause a conflict?

I really can't thank you enough for your help.... what a life (and business!) saver you have been!

You can run Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes in tandem. Malwarebytes is designed to run alongside other antivirus software. :)
