Pc hangs at win 7 logo

    Hi

After a long break i wanted to install a game (Rift) again so i inserted the Disc into Dvd station and ran it. But the Install button was greyed out & it gave me an error related to a key/code which was till on my pc & had to remove it.
So i ran Regedit & looked up for this key/code & deleted it. I returned to Rift & checked if Install was available which was the case. But clicking on Install was giving me the same error again.

After that i ran Regedit again & deleted everything related to Rift. But this didn't solve anything so i just let it go.
I didn't close Regedit but star
ted to removing old game files which were not on my pc anymore & kinda deleted everything.

I closed Regedit & ran CCleaner & scanned everything for an error etc. Nothing, then i ran Revo Uninstaller pro & did same thing.

Now there is a much Bigger issue. After 3 days of gaming fine & watching movies an error starting show up on my screen "blablabla register key PC Fighters is missing". (its a game)

I was like what da monkey!!! I ran CCleaner & Avira and they showed nothing. It still kept coming & coming and i got worried but still ignored & pity i didn't do a system restore.

Today i booted the pc but it hung at Win 7 logo which i found weird even tho i cleaned Registry. I've done this million times & never had an issue.
I run pc in Safe Mode & let System search for related issues to this & fix it automatically. But thing it says that this can not be repaired or system restored.
I tried rebooting the pc into Safe mode & trying the same over & over again but nothing.

    This is the error (detailed):
I get a dialog that reads "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically", and the problem details read:

    Problem Signature:
    Problem Event Name: StartupRepairOffline
    Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7100.0
    Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7100.0
    Problem Signature 03: unknown
    Problem Signature 04: 21201679
    Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover
    Problem Signature 06: 3
    Problem Signature 07: NoRootCause
    OS Version: 6.1.7100.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1043

I been trying to get into Advanced Boot settings by pressing F8 but its not giving me the desired screen (Advanced). I guess i have to hit all F keys to find out which one is the right one.

Any idea if this caused by cleaning Registry?
I don't remember a day having an issue like this or hardware related. I ran memtest, temps are normal. GPU is oc'ed but only using OC when running 2 games at once. Currently i'm using Default settings. CPU is not OC'ed.
MY specs are in my sig.

Can a very old HDD also cause this ? (it is over 5 years old) but i keep scanning for errors & i've yet to see yellow marks.
Since the system can't be restored or repaired i guess i have to Reinstall the Win 7 64 over again?

    Edit:
I somehow managed to get into safemode & did a systemrestore which was succesfull but yet pc was hanging at logo again. So the only option i saw to was to do a complete Reinstall of Win 7.
Stil i wanna know what could have cause this & what does that NoRootCause in my error mean?

2d Edit: I just did a complete Reinstall of Win 7 64 & after installing drivers from Asus cd, i restarted pc. And yet pc is hanging at win 7 Logo.
I have no damned idea what else to do. Is my mobo dead ? or GPU or Monitor? When installing drivers everything seemed fine. I restarted the pc to download new ATI drivers

3rd Edit: attemp on 2d day:

    - I ran memtest:all good
    - i typed scannnow & chkdsk in command prompt: also all good no errors nothing
    - Windows memory control: also nothing
    - i got yesterday into safemode & downloaded & installed HD Tune pro. I ran the quick scan of my old HDD & no errors.
    - I checked another HDD just in case : no errors
    - I ran Chkdsk /f /r which solved & deleted $130 issue & restarted.

Yet pc keeps hanging at logo. The logo does not freeze as its glowing still.
I tried almost 20x system restores/repairs/repair from Win CD itself (its legal ofc), HD tune Pro test, multiple chkdsk scans, i ran sfc/scannow several times. I tried absolutelty everything possible Advanced Boot Settings gave me and google ofc.

And none of these worked, most of them actually froze somewhere in between. Today which is 2d day of trying to fix this Pc does not even boot up from Win CD itself, i even downloaded Ubuntu to try it & no result at all.
Screen simply goes completelly black and when pressing on Safemode with network or whatever it hangs on Classic.gnp or smthing & then screen again goes black.

It takes several restarts to even get into the safe mode as i mostly get Error Reading the Disc or No keyboard detected.

When this freezing happens while windows is loading some files i noticed Artifacts on top of screen. Once only tho.

I checked all possible threads over the net & almost everyone fixed it except me lol.

I'm trying right now to get into Safemode to run HD Tune Pro again & run Avira too.

I'm sorry for lots of mistakes i most likely made & for this huge post.
Btw i can't even turn off the automatic Chkdsk scan when starting pc. I followed every possible guide & yet it leads me to nowhere.

reset BIOS/CMOS maybe? Also disconnect everything but keyboard/mouse/monitor, reseat videocard, and start taking out some memory chips (even though your memory tests were fine)

Currently.. after your os reinstall.. does safe mode boot fine?

I did CMOS reset already. Not really, safe mode still needs a couple of restarts :s.

Btw when my HD is trying to open a program or whatever it makes a cracking ish noice and its quiet noticable even playing games (at least i was playing). While other storage HD does not make any noise at all.

I did another full repair & scan successfully wow lol and windows booted correctly after some time.
I dled HD tune Pro & scanned my old HD

Here are the 2 SS (full scan & speed map)

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

When pressing Speed map, it shows Red areas & half of the yellow. Is that normal?

I'm kinda terrified to reboot the pc and see the same result.

I asked a friend of mine if his HD is making this crackingish noise when loading a file or reading and he said no :s

I found the exact HD noise on youtube as i'm experiencing it
From 0:35 wierd hard drive noise - YouTube

Edit: i went for dinner for like 10 & i left pc still hanging at logo screen when i came back it was booted into password screen, so afterwards everything went fine.
Then i had to reboot to make some changes and now its still stuck at Logo lol

the hard drive sounds normal to me. Some drives are louder than others.

Try removing your Video card and using on board video.. IF you have onboard video. It's worth a shot. Or try install 32bit version of Win 7 to check.

well all i know is what you did before (with installing games, cleaning registry) probably didn't have any effect at all on what the main problem is.

When you reinstalled OS, you completed wiped HD? After you finished reinstalling and BEFORE installing drivers, did it boot successfully?

Did the hanging at logo problem start AFTER you loaded drivers?

Yea, i had 2 partitions and i removed both to make one. After that i restarted Windows & booted normally, i inserted Asus mobo CD in station & ran it to install AMD chipset driver, audio, lan and 2 utilities. then i downloaded 12.1 ATI drivers from the net.

After that i had to restart pc to apply changes and there it was. Hang to win 7 logo screen.

Thing is i if wait like 20m windows boots but it takes 20m instead of 8ms.

I opened my case & sitting right in front of me and what i noticed is when turning on at some point keyboard lights go off & all the fans all together, suddenly lights go on again & fans start spinning.

Since both vga & gpu post the problem is not with gpu i assume. Its either mobo or psu i guess.
When pc hangs at logo screen keyboard (cyborg v7) lights go off completellly and after 20m lights light up again and pc boots normally.

Why in hell would it take 20min?PSU is a quility psu its a Be Quiet Pure Power 530watt which can handle my system pretty well.

When keyboard lights up it means windows is gonna boot normally, how strange is that

does it hang on "starting windows" or on "Applying computer settings" (or upon profile trying to load)?
