Random freezes / BSOD

Hello, recently i've been having some really weird freezes, sometimes its just the windows but multimedia keyboard keys / mouse still work, other times it completely freezes (cant even move the mouse.).

Usually if i wait a little bit the computer goes back to normal by itself, other times i get BSOD.
Im pretty sure its hardware related because i've tried formatting and got a bsod right after installing windows, i suspect the hard drive because when the computer freezes all HDD activity stops, when the computer manages to recover the hard drive activity comes back exactly at the same time the system unfreezes, sometimes if i run chkdsk there are lots and lots of errors, windows fixes them but they come back sooner or later, also, sometimes the computer doesnt detect the hard drive after a BSOD, turning the computer off and then on always "fixes" that tho.

The only reason im not 100% sure its the HDD its because all HDD utilities i've tried (incluiding western digital diagnostics software) say the disk is fine, can SMART be wrong ?!

I've also ran memtest and no errors (just one pass tho)

Things seem to have gotten worse when i changed the graphic card, however i remember getting these freezes with the old one, just not as serious, prolly just a coincidence.

I remember getting 3 kinds of BSOD errors: driver_power_state_failure, pagefault_in_nonpaged_area and kernel_data_inpage_error

A week ago i turned my pc on and windows was broken, startup repair thing would show up and try to repair but failed no matter how many times i tried, this never happened to me before so it must be related

specs: E8400 3.0ghz (stock)
asus P5k-E wifi
LC power hyperion 750w
2x2gb team elite ddr2
western digital green caviar 500 gb
asus 6870 directCU
asus xonar DX
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Everything except the graphic card is 4 years old

dump and perfmon attached, if anyone could figure out whats the issue or confirm my suspicions i'd be very thankful

Sorry about the wall of text, just trying to explain how the computer behaves the best i can

PS: im not sure if this last crash created a dump, i did follow the posting instructions tho, the system NEVER bsod while its working fine, its always when it freezes, either it comes back normally or it bsod

EASY and obvious. Your Kaspersky

Kaspersky is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST.

I've used kaspersky for years without any issues and i've had freezes and BSOD before installing it after a format

I'll try removing it but like i said i had a BSOD while installing windows updates on a fresh windows, didnt have a single 3rd party program installed back then

yea uninstall and reinstall kaspersky and update it completely it may have just got corrupt. The dump file points to it. On the other hand i like kaspersky I think it's a pretty damn strong antivirus.

i did that many times, even tried installing the 2012 version instead and formatting, yes, something is corrupting files that im sure of but i always thought it was the HDD dying

removed kaspersky for now, will post if it happens again

Oh didn't know you've tried it already.

Then what it looks like is some driver causing kaspersky to crash. I'll need to think about it more and examine the data.

Removing kaspersky didnt fix anything, still freezing :\

like i said i'd bet its the HDD but i dont understand why SMART scan says its healthy, what else could corrupt files besides faulty HDD or ram ?

already scanned for virus with kaspersky, spybot and malwarebytes, thats not it

SMART will only tell you if the hard drive has a potential failure coming its way or not.

I recommend run chkdsk /r (boot with windows 7 cd)
Or use your favorite disk checking program that does a FULL sector by sector scan

But if you have already done this, and since you said after BSOD windows won't detect HD, then last thing I would do is reseat the HD cables or try another SATA Slot and reset BIOS to defaults before replacing HD.
