    No Kernel Memory Dump files being produced upon BSOD?

    For dumps to be produced. . .
    ▪ Page file must be on OS drive
    ▪ Page file base allocation size must be > than installed physical RAM
    ▪ Windows Error Reporting (WER) system service should be set to MANUAL
    ▪ Set page file to system managed, OS drive

    Set System Crash/ Recovery Settings to "Kernel Memory Dump" - this will produce. . .
    --> a Full Kernel Memory Dump - c:\windows\memory.dmp
    --> a Mini Kernel dump c:\windows\minidump

    The Full Kernel is overwritten each BSOD; a new mini kernel dump is created w/ different name for each BSOD

    Thanks to jcgriff2

    I haven't messed with any of the Page File settings, though I have wanted to because of my SSD. I checked all those settings, and they seem to be set properly.

    When I am checking the Startup and Recovery settings, when I click OK to leave the menu, it brings up a "Windows might not be able to record details that could help identify system errors because your current paging file is disabled or less than 400 megabytes..." Not sure how I go about fixing that.

    Edit:
    I am switching my graphics card out for an older one. I'm still weary about it. I am really thinking it is what is causing the underlying issue. I only believe this, cause when I RMA'ed the first one, i used an older graphics card and had no real issue with it. :\ So either I've gotten unlucky twice with graphics cards, Radeon makes $!!# drivers, or something else is the underlying issue. But this will allow me to test if my NVIDIA card works.

    I originally used an older Radeon card, and got the system to crash.. But that was from overheating. So hopefully I can test this way.

    Page file is changed in system control panel and it is the reason you arent having any luck with the DMP files.

    OK. Do I change it with "Custom size"? It's currently set at 8159 MB, but that's letting the "System Managed size" do it's thing. What should I set Initial too, and Maximum to?

    It should be set to Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.

    I'm not at home on my desktop to tell you want the settings are atm.

    I know that originally it was set to automatically manage the paging size. But that's not producing Blue Screens when my computer crashes...

    Someone suggested over-heating crashing, but I've never seen my anything in my PC go over 40C. Someone also suggested it could be my PSU, but I bought a higher PSU to make sure I had enough getting through. I don't know how to test if it's the PSU causing issues though.

    I feel like it has something to do with my card being PCIe 3.0...Granted I have 2 PCIe 3.0 ready slots. I've tested both slots and the card crashes while gaming in both.
    So I really don't know. I'm running a PCIe 2.0 Card, and not really having any issues with it, except that it runs hot. But it's always ran hot. Stupid older card, with crappy fan. So I am just stumped entirely. -.-;

    I know my mobo has a new BIOs out, but I did not see it mentioning anything about PCIe 3.0 slots... SO I am kind of trying to avoid flashing new BIOs into it.
    ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3
    is the mobo I am using.

    Your BIOS is dated 2/15

    You might want to remove the OC at least to test.

    BiosVersion = 3201
    BiosReleaseDate = 02/15/2012

    MaxSpeed: 3300
    CurrentSpeed: 3399

    Set the File Page size to be managed by the computer.
    Put the New GPU back in the computer.
    Set the clock settings back to normal, as far as I know. I was using the ASUS ez overclock or something another, and had it set in performance mode.

    I contacted the GPU company, and they are suggesting that it might be a motherboard issue. So time to contact ASUS and see what they have to say. -.-;

    Edit:

    Crashed 15mins into playing Skyrim.

    Well, it's a been a few weeks since I've been around. I've got good news, and bad news.

    The good news... I've managed to make the crashes a little bit less frequent. The bad news... If you can't guess is, I am still crashing.

    When I contacted ASUS, they told me to change my BIOs to use PCI-E only for graphics. I didn't know this option was in the BIOs, and it escaped me. Never had to change that before, so didn't think about it. After changing that option, I was able to play Skyrim, without a crash for quite a bit. When I installed FalloutNV, something older than Skyrim, the crashes started happening again. The computer isn't writing any .dmp files, and verifier is running.

    I contacted ASUS about it, and they want me to RMA my mobo. :|

    So, I am currently waiting for my laptop to come in the mail before I start the process of taking apart my computer to RMA my mobo.
