Can you upload any .dmps from today to make sure ASACPI is updated?

    What about the nVidia drivers?
here's one I just got a couple of minutes ago, the blue screen blamed it on dxgmms1.sys.
    Attachment 215981

I got this one on a different game this time, unreal tournament 3, which I just installed today. I played for about 45 minutes on the same map and it eventually just gave me BSOD.

    Code:
    ASACPI.sys Mon Oct 30 20:09:12 2006 (4546B048)
Still looks old. Where did you obtain the driver updated you tried to install?

from ASUS' website. both times I updated, the installer refused to run so I had to go into the folder and manually place the ASAPCI.sys that came with the installer into system32/drivers. I tried looking elsewhere for the driver but I could only find it on ASUS' website. if you know of somewhere else I can get it I will build you a shrine.

RE-EDIT: so I installed nforce chipset drivers, and it didn't improve my problem at all, however it did stop any BSODs that aren't caused by dxgmms1.sys. my dxgmms1.sys is up to date and I have direct x 11 and all of that, and searching through multiple forums I have concluded that the remaining problem is my graphics card. giving your knowledge of the subject and of my problems, do you think I'm correct in my assumption?

DirectX crashes point to the graphics card. Whether it is the hardware itself or just a driver issue is what we need to determine. It may be its driver is not working with the ASACPI driver. Try renaming your ASACPI.sys driver to ASACPI.sys.bak and then install (or copy if the installer will not work) using the installer. Also, make sure you get all instances of ASACPI.sys renamed and replaced. Search for it with an Elevated Command Prompt and type
    Code:
    cd ..
    cd ..
    dir /a /s ASACPI.sys

I renamed it to ASACPI.sys.bak then copied a new one in, and the elevated command prompt couldn't check my HDD because apparently ''volume drive C has no label''. I tried searching for other instances with the search bar in the start menu but it found none.

You didn't give it enough time. It takes a few minutes (or more if you have a lot on your C: drive; mine is only 93 GB full):

    Attachment 216257 Attachment 216258

That is an example of me doing the search on a similar file to what I asked you to search for. My search took about 2-3 minutes.

I waited longer than 3 minutes, it wouldn't make any progress. however, since renaming the driver and installing a new one, I haven't had a BSOD all day. I can't be sure just yet but it seems like it might be fixed.

Your XBox USB wireless controller drivers are out of date. Please update them here: Software Downloads: Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Remove all ASUS utilities software through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program.
