PC randomly freezes + weird sound
Hello everybody!
3 months ago I builted a new computer so that i could work better with audio and 3d, but since I changed it I had some problems.
Here's my configuration:
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
CPU Intel Core i5-2550K 3.4GHz Socket 1155 95W Boxed
RAM DDR3 G.Skill Ares F3-1600C9Q-16GAO 1600MHz 16GB (4x4GB) 9-9-9 2N
VGA nVidia 8800gt (i kept my old one)
power supply: PC XFX ProSeries 550W Core Edition
CaseMidi Cooler Master CM 690 II LITE
Everything works good, except for these 2 points:
1) (weird one): I think there are some problems with the USB ports...infact my mouse started working slowly as soon as my webcam was turned on (like there was some power problem)...so i just tried out every combination of usb port, since i found the one where my mouse doesn't start to work slow (it's weird to explain...it's not like the pc slows down, but the mouse just start out of nowheer to be slow). But i noticed that now i've problems with the cam, cause it keeps being turned off and on every minute it's working. So well, this could mean some motherboard problems?
2) the most problematic one: it happens sometimes (like 1 time every 2-3 days) that my pc freezes out of nowhere!! it happened when i was working on cubase, when i was playing a java game, but also when i was doing absolutely nothing.
It just happened once that it freezed up again after reboot.
What happen it's just that the pc completely stops working: the screen freezes (so i can't move the mouse nor type anything), and the speakers emit a weird sound (see the attachment to hear it). the only possible solution is to manually turn off the pc. Everytime i turn it on after the crash, my wifi-usb antenna, doesn't work...so i need to plug it off and on again to make it work (it's just a detail but maybe it's important).
I actually had this problem with my old pc, but it only happened when i was playing some games, and i "resolved" it detuning my video card with MSI-afterburner during the gaming experience. but now it happens randomly, and it's very frustrating, cause it's a powerful pc, and i use it to compose and record music, so i also need stability.
What do u think it's the problem? I think i need to run memtest or something to exclude faulty rams, but i fear it could be a motherboard related problem
here's the sound btw: Memo.m4a
thanks for the support and sorry for the poem,
Alessandro.
