    ntoskrnl.exe +0x7F1C0 BSOD playing Metro 2033

    Hi there

had some previous BSODs associated with faulty Etron USB 3 drivers which I think Ive resolved. This new one came up whilst I was playing Metro 2033.

Thanks for any help you can give. Seems like a great resource here.

    win7 64bit SP1
...it is the original OS installed
OEM version purchased and installed on home build
hardware is less than 2 months old
OS installation, again, maybe 1 - 1.5 months old (original first install)

    Cheers

    Problematic Software:
    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6	Public:Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6	Public
    • Recommend removing your Gigabyte utilities through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. They can provide software interfaces with the hardware for overclocking, and even when the overclock is not enabled, that interface can cause instability.

    Code:
    fffff880`01bef000 fffff880`01bf8000 MTiCtwl MTiCtwl.sys Tue Nov 4 00:40:50 2008 (490FFC82)
MagicTunePremium - Samsung Electronics, Inc is known to cause problems if it is out of date. You should update the software: SAMSUNG learning resource - download.

Crashes caused by your Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller Driver as you suspected. Update the driver from the manufacturer if you still have problems.

There were also some unknown caused crashes that may be due to the Samsung monitor software.

Many thanks for your help sir.

    I have uninstalled EasyTune.

The version of Magic Tune I have is ostensibly the most up to date (4.0.14) but I will bear this in mind for future. It does seem like quite a poor program.

I will see whether I get any more BSODs and look into that goddamn Etron driver again if necessary (Etrons servers mean a 10mb driver download takes 45 minutes...)

    Much appreciated.

Sounds like a good plan. Let us know when you know one way or the other if the problem is solved. Best of luck! :)
