So you're now finding that this machine:

I just bought an asus ul50vt laptop(windows 7) without a hard drive. I bought a new hard drive separately which is a Fujitsu 2.5" 120gb. Everything on and in the laptop is all manufacture so nothing has been replaced or changed.
can no longer access a USB flash drive, the optical drive, or the hard drive????

If so it appears you may have to look at the motherboard, BIOS settings, internal device connections, or warranty.

Yes I did use that and the led on the flash drive is on but the computer doesn't react to it. All it says is "reboot or select proper boot device". Or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

So you recommend me take it to a professional?

If it's new it's still under warranty, right?

Where do you purchase a laptop that has no hard drive?

You might try going into the BIOS to check settings, or reset the BIOS to default settings.

I bought it off eBay. I doubt there's a warranty and if there is, them I'm sure it's voided with a differant hdd so its out of the question

I thought you mentioned it came without an HD. Can you get into the BIOS itself (not just the temporary boot options menu)?

yes it did come without an hd. but i have the computer working now. it must have been the fujitsu hd i bought seperatly. i took the hd out of my xbox 360 and put it in my asus, inserted the bootable flash drive (same one ive been trying to use) and it read it instantly. i installed w7 and everything is working great now. only issue is that the xbox hdd is only 60 gb lol, but its better than nothing for now until i get a 500gb. anyways thanks alot guys i really appriciate all the help.
