BSOD Running SWTOR Launcher, followed BSOD Posting instructions

    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
    - the original installed OS on the system? Windows 7 x64
    - an OEM or full retail version? Full retail
    - What is the age of system (hardware)? April 2012
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) May 2012

I have BSOD only a couple of times other than running the swtor launcher, but that is primarily when it happens and the only way I can reliably reproduce a bsod.

Attached are the dumps, the last 2 dumps were with driver verifier running (crashed upon boot-up)
I can run memtest86 for hours (16+ cycles complete) with no errors, prime95 with no errors, and IntelBurnTest with no problems.
Temperatures are not excessive, I have never gotten above 45C on the cpu or 55C on the mainboard under maximum stress.

I don't know what else to try - Thanks in advance!

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

    Here's some suggestions:
    - Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
    - Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
    - Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
    - Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
    - Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.-
Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliability I will not recommend, nor will I use, SSD's for critical applications.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
29 May 2012 - The frequency of BSOD's with SSD's seems to have been decreasing over the last several months. It may be approaching time to re-evaluate my stand on their suitability for use in production systems.
ATI HDMI Audio is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
Please re-enable it, update the drivers, then disable it again if so desired.

I strongly suspect your Razer device - and it may even be hardware related. So update the Razer drivers. If that doesn't fix it, then uninstall the software and physically remove the device from your system.

You have 2 versions of AMD Overdrive installed. Please make sure that they are both removed. Here's my suggestions:
AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.
Gigabyte's EasyTune6 and Gigabyte's EasySaver are known to cause BSOD's with some Win7 systems - please uninstall them immediately!

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ

You also have an older copy protection driver installed (from 2008) - it's likely part of a player installed from a DVD movie. Please uninstall it. If unable to locate it, please post back for a safe way to remove it.

Your C-Media USB 2.0 Card Reader drivers date from 2007 and must be updated. Please visit the manufacturer's website and update the driver to a Win7 compatible version.

Your version of Cyberlink PowerDVD and it's associated software dates from 2008 or earlier, please either update it or remove it from your system.

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

Thanks for the quick reply - you gave me some work to do

I thought I had uninstalled some of those programs - Gigabyte's, Easytune & Easysaver, Daemon tools, and powerDVD. I'll start there when I get home from work tonight.

I have recently updated the firmware in my SSD, but I will double check on the controller drivers also.
I had the ATI HDMI Audio disabled because its driver popped on one of the crash dumps and forgot to reenable when it didn't make a difference, no particular reason to have it disabled.

Thanks again - I'll let you know what I find

I ran all your memory dumps (09 May to the present) - so it's possible that some of the programs were uninstalled before the last dump was created.
Please double check in order to be sure.

Its been running better, but still not completely fixed. SWTOR still won't fully patch and I have had a few more bsod's - minidumps attached.

    AMD Overdrive is still there.
Double check the instructions above about it (in post #2)
    Then try this:
If AODDriver2.sys is still present and the software/device isn't present and the driver isn't needed - then please do this (thanks to jcgriff2):
Bring up elevated Admin cmd prompt -
    START | type cmd.exe | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | type/ paste the following -
    Code:
    where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0
It may take a few minutes.

A Notepad will open wth the results.
Please post the results in your next post.

    Then:
    - create a System Restore point.
    - create a System Repair disc and ensure that it works. To do this, go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
    - uninstall all ATI video stuff using Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program (this may make the next 3 steps unnecessary - if so, just continue on).

    - check in services.msc to see if there is an AOD service. If there is, set it to "Disabled" for the startup type.
    - then disable any startups that name AODDriver2.sys using Autoruns (free from here: Autoruns for Windows )
    - rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver2.BAD (it's probably in C:\Windows\System32\drivers)
    ----------01 June 2012 - Owner found AOD in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64

    - reboot and see if that fixes the problem(s). Check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers (or the other folder) to be sure that it stays renamed.
    - install fresh video drivers using the procedure here: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure
DO NOT install the full Catalyst Control Center package!!!
If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

OK I will try to remove the ATI Overdrive again and post results.

Also - I just noticed that the BIOS reverted back to an older version, so I will update that again. I now recall seeing the BOIS load a backup last week but I didn't put 2 and 2 together until just now.

So now that I'm home I know why the AODDrive showed up in your analysis, I saw that ATI had newer drivers so downloaded them and installed but forgot to do the driver only install. The next day I remembered and uninstalled and reinstalled just the drivers - this occurred on 7/3-7/4.

    I tried running your script
where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0But all it did was open up notepad with an empty document so I'm guessing the AODDrive is gone? If you look at just the minidump from 7/8 in my last post it does not show up at all.

Yep, that means that there aren't any files on the C: drive that start with AODDrive

We're working on identifying which drivers are from which memory dumps - but for now it's just me seeing what I can see in the reports (and I have vision problems). I must've missed that - Sorry!

    ******************************************************************
But, quite often the STOP 0x101 errors are hardware based - so we've got to take a different approach here.

First, try running Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
This is to verify that it's not a 3rd party driver problem (or if it is, the verifier will point out 3rd party drivers).

After that, start with the free diagnostics here: Hardware Diagnostics

    Good luck!
