    BSOD, frequently after start up

    Hi,

I could really do with some help.

My computer keeps crashing, usually shortly after start-up. It will then start and run smoothly for several days, even weeks before it crashes again.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
    Locale ID: 2057

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 1000007e
    BCP1: FFFFFFFFC0000005
    BCP2: FFFFF80002CC10C5
    BCP3: FFFFF880031A01A8
    BCP4: FFFFF8800319FA00
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\062612-12729-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Hugh\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-36426-0.sysdata.xml

I've tried going through the other threads on this site with no success so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been apprehensive about meddling as I'm not particularly competent with computers.

    Thanks.

Hello Hugh and welcome to Sevenforums!

    BSOD Report
There's a few things to look at here, let's do it step by step.

    Drivers to be aware of
    Code:
    VX3000 VX-3000 VX-3000 Kernel Manual Stopped OK FALSE FALSE 0 163,840 0 07/10/2009 02:49:00 C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\VX3000.sys
AX3000, also known as the Microsoft LifeCam Driver, has reported unknown timestamp. My Debugging Tool were not able to find the timestamp, though, driverq_v did find it. It's from 2009, not too old, but the driver may need to be updated. Link on update and driver installation for Microsoft Devices is below.

Your Event Viewer log also reported pointers to the same driver.

Are you having issues installing updates from Windows Updates? The amount of hotfixes noticed in the $systeminfo is not available, which makes me a little curious. Make sure to get all these updates, which also includes fixes for your USB Drivers - also some drivers you've had issues on by the looks of it.

    Code:
    0: kd> lmvm usbccgp
    start end module name
    fffff880`085a2000 fffff880`085bf000 usbccgp (pdb symbols) c:\symbols\usbccgp.pdb\7AEE358B88404B44905BC3D61CB0B9311\usbccgp.pdb
        Loaded symbol image file: usbccgp.sys
        Mapped memory image file: c:\symbols\usbccgp.sys\4CE7A6731d000\usbccgp.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\usbccgp.sys
        Image name: usbccgp.sys
        Timestamp: Sat Nov 20 11:44:03 2010 (4CE7A673)
    Code:
Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000. oem28.inf TRUE Microsoft
Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 oem27.inf TRUE Microsoft
It seems like your BSODs are very driver related. Let's do the steps above, and continue.
Upload any incoming BSODs if you'll experience any.

    Best Regards,
    Frederik.
