Frequent BSOD and apps crashes
Hello everyone.
I am having an ongoing issue with my computer. It's an 3,5 years old laptop MSI GX630:
AMD Turion X2 Ultra 64bit - 2.1 GHz
4Gigs of RAM - DDR2 800MHz (now only 2Gigs, as I am testing the RAM sticks)
nVidia GeForce 6900M-GT
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Issues:
- Applications crashes (Internet browsers, games, video players, even DWM, WIFI,...)
- BSOD (most frequent: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA)
I tried Prime95 - gave me an error, so I tried Memtest, which gave me an error on one of the two RAM modules. So I left only the "good" one in and thought it will be OK. And it seemed that way for a while ... a day (maybe it was just a good
luck that day) Then the BSOD appeard again, with what should be fully working RAM. So I guess an error isn't here. I fear it could be Mboard/Gcard/Processor/Power suply issue, but because the laptop is out of waranty, I would like to make sure, it isn't just a driver problem.
I am aware, that I don't have all drivers installed for my HW (mostly stuff I am not using) but there could be problem there. The problem is, I was not able to find the drivers for it and some drivers from MSI doesn't work on 64bit Windows. I uninstaled Avast antivirus, Daemon Tools,... didn't help either.
Thank you for any help.
