Frequent Crashes - Not specific to activity
Hello all- I apologize in advance for my lack of technical knowledge. My desktop computer has been crashing (BSOD) regularly for some time, and I have been avoiding addressing the issue because I knew it would be beyond me. Many of my web searches have led me back to your forum, so I thought I would try to seek your help.
From what I can tell the bug/crashes are from a non-paged area fault. They seem to be possibly related to ntoskrnl.exe, but I am not sure. The parameters all start 0xFFFFF8A, but there are many different variations from there. I can't seem to figure out what it is related to- as it appears from my side to be at random.
I do not play games, or do anything unusual on this computer - Win 7 HP 64-bit. Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, that's pretty much it. I run ESET NOD32 for security. The computer is old and not very "advanced" in terms of memory/processor (2.5 GHz Dual-Core Pentium E5200 w/ 3.00 GB RAM) because it was always intended only for email, web surfing, and basic word processing use.
I have tried to follow your guidelines for posting information, and attached the performance report and the other detailed report as zip files.
Also, here is an example of the most recent crash report:
On Tue 7/3/2012 2:43:59 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\070212-25272-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x70040)
Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF8A00F296000, 0x0, 0xFFFFF88001876BD2, 0x0)
Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Any and all help is greatly appreciated (especially if you can explain it in simple terms for me). Thanks!
