    BSOD while launching Grand Chase

Every time I start up Grand Chase, I get the blue screen. The patcher appears fine. It then goes to the game guard. After a little while, my computer gets the blue screen. I have also noticed that my League of Legends patcher is unable to patch, but it does not cause a blue screen. After restart it shows this in the problem details:

looks like GameGuard's npggNT64.des file is the possible culprit

does your other application that uses gameguard have the same version of that npggNT64.des file?

The other application does not use gameguard. It doesn't cause a blue screen.

Try renaming the gameguard folder to gameguard_old and then kick off the patcher. It should download the latest gameguard files for you.

I think the problem may be my aVast antivirus, because other people with avast have had the same problem. Let me investigate and I'll get back to you.

Well now that avast is uninstalled, the blue screen no longer occurs, but the game doesn't work :P

I think I can take it from here.

Alright, but if you find you have problems, let us know, and we can provide assistance.

Also, please post back if you are able to solve all problems, and you may mark the thread solved at that time.

The problem has been solved. I believe it had something to do with the new avast antivirus deleting a bunch of registry files for the League of Legends patcher. It must've had some problem with Grand Chase. I'm using a different antivirus and I've reinstalled the games. Everything works fine now. Thanks for the concern guys!

I'm having the same issues you were, i had a feeling myself that it may be my Avast, so what virus protection are you using now?

Most of the gurus here use Microsoft Security Essentials: Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

It has a low footprint and is known not to cause issues with Windows 7.
