    WMI error 0x80041003

I just purchased a new netbook 2 days ago (1.33ghz, 4gbDDR3, 320gbHDD, windows 7 home prem x64bit) & I noticed that my settings would revert back to defaulkt after every startup especially when making the "open first home page" option whenb opening a new tab, It just opens a blank screen tab instead.

I called ms & after 2hrs of trying to fix it they recommened I pay $169 for a sr. tech & 1yr protection.. FU!!

Whenb ran on safe mode i was able to open up the original home page on numorious tabs back to back. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure how this relates to your error message in the thread title. Can you explain further? What "settings" are you referring too? Just the browser settings? What browser? Version of browser?

My browser settings on IE9. I set it to open first homepage & it does it as throughout one session but once I shut down the next time I start up I press to open anther tab & only a blank page opens up.

Ok, but again, what does the WMI error have to do with this? Where or when does it show up?

Check to see if you have any browser add-ons as those are the most common culprit of this. Disable them, restart IE9, confirm they're still disabled, then save homepage, restart IE9, check if settings are saved.

Also, certain AV software like AVG is known to inadvertently cause this. See if disabling your AV engine temporarily will resolve the issue.
