Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown - Blue Screen -

I have a brand new Desktop PC - running Windows 7 - 8gb ram - iTB HD and I have to say it is running perfectly well. However, when I shut it down yesterday I noticed that the PC restarted itself and stated ' windows had recovered from an unexpected shut down' blue screen, and it gave me details of a mini dump file for the error. The mini dump file is empty so nothing reported there. In the event log it states the issue was 'kernel' as follows: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
My husband suggested I shut down too soon before allowing ie to close properly. Any suggestions welcome, my concern is, should I be worried, has this done any damage?, it has not done it since and I have no other error messages. Is it possible some programme was still running and caused the PC to reboot? All answers appreciated. Thank you for your time.

The https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html can still provide us with the BugCheck code to determine if the problem is serious.

One thing I would suggest is:
Run Disk Check with Automatically fix file system errors checked. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log (you may need to search for wininit instead of chkdsk).
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

sorry I am a learner but do remeber bug check code 25 was quoted in the pop-up window if that helps. Chkdsk shows no errors and has been run more than once. Thank you for your time, it is appreciated.

Glad the disk check showed no errors. We would need the reports to help you further: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html
