Applications hang when opening or saving files
When I try to open or save a file in some applications the dialogue box starts to open and then it and the application freezes. The affected applications all use Explorer type dialogue boxes, those using XP and older style dialogue boxes are OK.
Explorer itself works OK and I can open files by double clicking.
When the problem started there had been no significant changes to the system, no new applications and no updates.
Any thoughts on what the problem may be or how to isolate it?
