BSOD after sleep mode, error DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE 0x0000009f

    Hello all

This is my first post in here. Please bear over with my English – it is not my native language.

My problem is on a Media Centre machine where I recently upgraded Motherboard and processor. I have the following setup on the machine:
    SILVERSTONE Grandia 04
DeZen PSU 500 Watt, TitanPower, 17-19 db
    MB: Asus P8H77-MLE
    CPU: Intel i3 2120
2x4 GB Corsair Vengeance ram (just bought new ones to see if it would help)
OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120 GB
    1,5 TB WD Caviar Green
    Asus P7131 Tuner
TERRATEC Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity
    Hauppauge! WinTV-NOVA-T-Stick-Diversity
    Hauppauge! Smart CI USB

My previous setup was with a AMD 240e but I have made a clean install.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus and have firewall turned on.

The Media Centre machine is on for 24/7 on sleep mode for recordings or turned on for showing recordings.
Since the upgrade I have BSOD most times after it is turned on after sleep. The STOP occurs 4-5 minutes after the wake up either the wakeup is initiated from a recording or from user. I even see BSOD occur in the middle of the night where I have no recordings or other activity.

I have made several new install and tried to exclude the SSD and install a 32 bit Win7 – but the BSOD still occurs 4-5 min after awake.

I have updated all drivers and tried to run Verifier with no luck.

    Hopefully someone can help

Now I have trouble getting it into sleep mode. The screen goes black and stoppes. I can't do anything then, have to pulle the plug and restart, even the reset button doesn't work... on restart it loads the file from hybrid sleep.

I have 2 win7 boot options (32bit and 64bit on either Harddrive) and they both do the same.

Is it a faulty MB - the whole problem started with changing the MB but I thought it was a driver problem??

    Software Concerns:
Recommend removing your ASUS utilities through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. They can provide software interfaces with the hardware for overclocking, and even when the overclock is not enabled, that interface can cause instability. They are also not needed for the system to function properly and may reduce system resources.

    Analysis:
All crashes were caused by your EyeTV DTT IR TV Tuner USB capture driver or cinergy_dt_usb_xs_diversity device/software or Hauppauge device/software. Remove it to test.

    For the USB problems...
    • Start with USB Driver - General Fix for Problems to resolve the USB issues. Also, USB ports can sometimes enter a safe power state to protect the system from power surges due to USB devices. To reset the USB ports to a nominal power state:
      1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
      2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
      3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
      4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
      5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
      6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

I have tried the above - with no luck. Everything removed and uninstalled - and it still hangs on sleep and on shutdown (hang on shutdown is "new" discovered).

I'm just about to rip out the MB and put the old one back.

I have now tried to put back the old MB ASUS M4A795D Pro and there are no problems here. Just slow and not so nice graphic.
It must be something with the intel chipset and/or Intel graphics?
... or the MB (or CPU) is just faulty and must go back

Your crash reports indicate a possible problem with your Windows installation. Please follow the Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions. Post the results in your next post; do not start a new thread.

Thank you very much for your effort.
Before I saw your post I did some more testing - I made clean install of windows 7 and the drivers from disk.
    I tried with both 64 and 32 bit - and with/without SP1.
I still had the same error
I have returned the MB to the dealer and will update here when I get it back.

Hopefully it isn't the CPU that is corrupt...
