Windows won't repair or start. error# 0x80070002

Hi there!

Last night before I went to bed there was a Windows update, and this morning when I turned the pc on, it just went to this screen saying that something was wrong and i needed to repair.
I clicked the repair box, but it didn't wanna do that.
So I went into the system recovery tool to go back to (the only restore point) which is yesterday, but when I try and do that, it says "Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070002)

I don't know alot about computers, and I'm currently writing this on my laptop, since I can't enter my computer in any way

Can anyone help me out here?

Are you able to circumvent the repair? As in when it asks to repair, click Cancel, and see if it'll continue loading? Also try and press F8 at startup (as in repeatedly press it after you turn on PC) to bring up boot menu and tell it to boot normally, as that may weasel around the repair attempt as well. If you see the Windows logo, you pressed F8 too late.

If you do manage to sneak past the repair attempt but Windows fails to boot up properly and either shows a blue screen or reboots, then it looks like Windows Update conked out and messed up Windows in the process. You'll wanna follow instructions here as well as here. You basically are wanting to run chkdsk to clean up any potential filesystem issues and then follow up by doing an sfc scan to try and repair any existing Windows files that may be messed up.
