    System stuck in boot loop while booting in safe mode


    Hey everyone my system is stuck in a boot loop while booting in safe mode

    I was updating the drivers on my video card. I used driver cleaner pro to remove my old drivers. I then used msconfig to boot in safe mode with the minimal option selected. When the computer reboots I get to the screen to type in my password for 5 seconds an the computer reboots itself.

    I've done several system restores and attempted a boot loop fix posted on these forums with no success. Can someone point me I. The right direction please?

    Try running Startup Repair a few times.

    Thanks for the advice bit nothing worked.

    Is there a way to access msconfig thru the command prompt in the repair utility?

    What do you mean nothing worked? There are many steps given. Did you run Startup Repair 3 separate times not matter what it reports. What resulted from System Restore from DVD or Repair CD? How about System File Checker from Command Prompt?

    Or are you referring to not being able to boot into Repair CD without password rejection? Use a Win7 Installation DVD System Recovery Options.

    You can access msconfig and services.msc by simply typing them at the CMD prompt in Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

    The steps lead up to a Clean Reinstall which may be your best option if you are using XP-era solutions like Driver Cleaner on Win7 which does not need these. Stick with the methods given to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

    Running system repair 3 times or using system restore or booting from the cd didn't solve my issue.

    I ended up re installing windows 7 and everything is fine now. Thanks for your help.

    I'm curious as to why you don't need to use driver cleaner pro any longer to update drivers. Using that method has solved many performance issues when I would just install new drivers ontop of each other

    Except in the rarest cases, Win7 handles drivers fine without having to scrub the previous one. They are all cued and available at Device manager>Device>Update Driver>Browse>Let me Pick. Driver Cleaners were mostly necessary in XP.

    Win7 also handles program uninstalls well enough I've stopped using Revo Uninstaller except in the rarest cases with problems during uninstall.
