Variety of Black Screen of Death

My Toshiba laptop recently began to display a black screen upon start up. The starting windows screen appears, and then simply displays a black screen with cursor instead of login, and if I let it sit, it then restarts my whole system. However, I can force restart, and it allows me to run the computer in safe mode, and safe mode with networking support. My Mcafee Total Protection displays that my computer is at risk, but when I run a full system scan through safe mode, it produces no results. I then ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it to yielded no results. I just don't understand what the problem could be, it doesn't sound like any of the other fixes I've read through, and I really need some help here. Im thinking the best fix might be a nice baseball bat.

Work through these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot.

As soon as you get booted in uninstall the MucAfee crapware and install Microsoft Security Essentials with the Win7 Firewall. MucAfee is the worst AV possible, almost an infection in itself.
