I am afraid reinstall is often suggested when it is not necesaary.

I always look for other solutions first.

Glad to see Kaktussoft does the same.

BTW - the download I suggested is a special repair cd - it is not for reinstalling.

bootmgr doesn't get deleted on its own!
The only thing I can imagine is what I wrote in the first post. On my system I added a HDD with Windows Vista from a laptop computer. I did not want that HDD be wasted as only the motherboard on the laptop was dead.
So I added it to my stationary Pc instead, booted it up (that went fine).
Now I formated the new disk with Vista. The next time I tried to boot the PC I got the BOOTMGR error...

I have no other idea why it happened, sorry...

SSD became slow, any fixes?
I am almost certain my SSD has gotten a bit slower since I have bought it. I have a 30 GB OCZ Vertex drive with firmware 1.4. It is a second generation drive. I am running Windows 7 x64. File transfers between hard drives used to be 100 MB/s, now they are around 75 MB/s. That is the only thing I...

Restarting fixes everything?
Windows has taught me (through the error that Vista managed to generate when i was using it) that the 'restart' button is a useful tool. More as a comment on Windows 7 than a complaint, the main issue I have encountered in a meagre 4 days of use is that the computer always manages to discover...
