Would you recommend trying to update my bios anyways?

If your bios is not current, then update your bios.

Mobo mfgs release those at great cost and for very good reasons. Take advantage of their knowedge, wisdom, and experience.

Alright, so I updated my BIOS and everything went smoothly. I started using my comp to see if the problem was fixed. I noticed programs occasionally would not respond and/or run slowly. The next day, I was downloading a steam game and it BSOD'd again.
