Random Crashes on Windows 7 64-bit reinstall

    Well, the prognosis is pretty grim. I have gotten these messages even after I ran chkdisk. The only sure fire remedy from my research on Google is to re-format the hard drive and install a clean version of Windows 7.

    I'm going to attempt a repair installation of Windows 7 and see if that works. My data is backed up already on an external hard drive. Nothing to lose with attempting the short cut.

    Then in addition to running Disk Check again, run the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan to get a prognosis on the HD.

    If it repairs anything run Disk Check again.
