    Regular BSODs on new system

    Hello,

Thanks in advance for any help.

I built a new system about four days ago using all new parts except for an optical drive and hard drive, which I brought over from my previous machine.

I've had about 10 BSODs since then - they seem to happen a few times a day. It doesn't seem to be triggered by any one thing e.g opening a certain application. In other words, it has happened when I have been doing various different things.

Please let me know if you need more info. Please see attached.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Start by installing SP1: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

AVG is blamed by two out of the three dumps I ran. While you are using an older version (which you should update), we can speculate from experience that your network adapter drivers are the more likely cause. Install updated ones from here: Realtek

    Code:
    Rt64win7.sys Tue Sep 27 10:50:33 2011 (4E81E2B9)
If that doesn't help, post back with a new SF Diagnostic report and we'll go from there.

    ...Summary of the dumps:

    Thanks for your reply.

I've decided to go a different route - I've installed Linux Mint. So far it's working well.

Next week I'll have access to Windows 8 so hopefully it will be a whole new ball game then :)
